New Role As Chief Content Officer at Clarim Media
Machined will continue, but distribution will expand to Techonomy.com
I’m pleased to announce that I’m taking on the role of Chief Content and Product Officer at Clarim Media. Clarim currently includes brands like Worth, Techonomy, and CDX. The company specializes in delivering influential audiences with valuable content and connecting them to a community of leaders looking to accelerate social, technological, and economic progress. Clarim Media does essential work, and I’m excited to help it grow.
I was introduced to Clarim through Techonomy’s founders: David Kirkpatrick and Josh Kampel. I attended many of their events over the years. Just a few months ago, I interviewed Evin Cheikosman and Sy Sygy about the positive effects of crypto on climate change. With Techonomy, David and Josh pioneered a new type of media company. They built a model that relies less on banner ads and affiliate links and more on the value of content, live events, and a community of passionate, intellectually curious people. I think that is a model that can scale.
You can be a part of it, too!
Clarim is growing and has multiple open roles. Let me know if you or someone you know is interested. I’m also looking for writers who deliver thoughtful, world-changing stories about technology.
Subscribe to the Worth and Techonomy newsletters. Not only will you get great stories every week, but you will be on the invite list for our live events. For example, we will be hosting the 'Health + Wealth of our Planet' event on September 20 at City Winery in NYC.
Request an invitation to the Techonomy 22 conference. This year, it is in Sonoma, California - an idyllic location, but also one that highlights just how vulnerable our communities are to climate change.
Come join us for CDX Accelerate Health + Wellness in Boston on June 22nd.
What about Machined? Don’t worry; Machined will continue! Going forward, the newsletter will be available for free as the publishing schedule may vary. I will refund all the super-loyal readers who signed up for a full-year plan. Stories that make sense on Techonomy.com will appear there, but more personal musings will stay exclusive to the newsletter.
Before I sign off, I want to give mad props to my former team at Ziff Davis, particularly PCMag. I worked for Ziff for over 20 years, although I did take some breaks. During that time, I learned how a modern media company works, but more importantly, I learned the importance of treating people fairly, setting rigorous goals, and creating content that matters. I’m grateful for the lessons and even more thankful for the people I met there.
Worth, Techonomy, and CDX are already successful, profitable brands that deliver real value to readers and partners. I look forward to taking the businesses to the next level and fulfilling Clarim’s mission to move important conversations forward.
Congrats on the new job Dan!
